Step 4: Reserve Room and Allocate Staff for Assessment Day
Once the assessment date(s) have been confirmed with the CMEC test administrator(s), book the required room(s) and staff who will support the test administrator(s) assigned to your school.
A testing room is considered suitable if it has a reasonable amount of space to accommodate an assessment session with sufficient space between students, adequate lighting, a comfortable temperature, and is located in a reasonably quiet area and away from school distractions. Devices should be positioned in such a way to ensure that students cannot readily see each other’s screens.
A school staff member (e.g., teacher, guidance counsellor) must be present in each assessment room to support the test administrator. It is also strongly recommended that the school’s or school board’s IT specialist be present on the assessment day to help the test administrator(s) with setting up devices and troubleshooting, if necessary, and to respond to potential problems, such as internet connectivity issues.
