Step 2: Help Prepare the Assessment Room

Before students arrive, ensure that all classroom materials, such as math and science resources and graphs, have been removed or concealed. Also prior to students’ arrival, the test administrator will turn on the assessment devices and load the PISA browser. If device login is required or if a large number of devices need to be set up, the support of school staff (e.g., school IT specialist, librarian) may be necessary.

Provide the test administrator with the following prepared materials:

  • extra pens, pencils, erasers;
  • blank paper;
  • extra calculators; and
  • access to books and magazines for students to read who finish early.
