Special education needs codes
SEN codes that may be applied to a student are as follows:

Code 1 |
Functional disability — The student has a moderate to severe permanent physical disability. Students with functional disabilities who are able to participate should be accommodated in the assessment situation, to the extent possible, rather than exempted. |

Code 2 |
Intellectual disability or socio-emotional condition — In the opinion of qualified staff, the student is considered to have an intellectual disability or a socio-emotional condition. It should be noted that students with learning disabilities should be accommodated in the assessment situation, to the extent possible, rather than exempted. |

Code 3 |
Limited assessment language experience — The student is not a native speaker of the language of the assessment (French or English) and has limited proficiency in this language, and has been in Canada for less than
two years. |
