Nearly 60 countries will participate in TIMSS 2023 at the Grade 4 level, including Canada. Five Canadian provinces will participate: Alberta, Manitoba, and Newfoundland and Labrador as oversampling participants, and Ontario and Quebec as benchmarking participants. A sample of schools has been randomly selected to participate in Canada’s field test, which will take place from March 14 to April 14, 2022. Within each selected school, at least one Grade 4 class will be selected to participate in the assessment.
