The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025 has science as the major domain, reading and mathematics as the minor domains, and learning in the digital world as the innovative domain. Approximately 90 countries are participating in PISA 2025. As in previous cycles, Canada’s participation consists of all 10 provinces.
PISA is a computer-based assessment, and it consists of a two-hour test and a 35- to 45-minute student questionnaire. A contextual questionnaire will be administered to school principals.
PISA 2025 will be administered between April 21 and May 30, 2025. Approximately 25,000 15-year-old students selected at random from 1,100 schools across all 10 provinces will participate in the assessment.
