The Consortium has developed and maintains an online resource to provide the Canadian K–12 teacher community with copyright information regarding the fair-dealing provision of the Copyright Act.

This website is a “decision tool” to guide teachers on the application of fair dealing as it relates to copying copyright-protected materials for students. The Fair Dealing Decision Tool allows teachers to determine whether use requires obtaining copyright permission or is permitted without further action because it falls within the Fair Dealing Guidelines.

The Fair Dealing Decision Tool also contains important reference materials such as Fair Dealing Guidelines (colour poster), Teachers’ Use of “Consumables” (colour poster), and the Copyright Matters! website. The 5th edition publication is also available for download here.
