Outside the Box: Canadian Results of the OECD PISA 2022 Study – The Performance of Canadian 15-Year-Olds in Creative Thinking

This report provides a high-level description of Canadian results from the creative-thinking component of the OECD’s PISA 2022. PISA is a survey of the knowledge and skills of 15-year-olds near the end of their compulsory schooling. The report presents both pan-Canadian and provincial results in creative thinking, and it complements the information presented in the PISA 2022 international report.

PISA 2022 Results: Learning During – and from – Disruption (Volume II)

Volume II, along with volume I, provides the initial results from OECD’s PISA 2022. PISA is a survey of the knowledge and skills of 15-year-olds near the end of their compulsory schooling. The major focus of the 2022 assessment was mathematics, with a secondary focus on reading and science. Volume II examines school and home contexts, educational resources, and the resiliency of education systems.

PISA 2022 Results: The State of Learning and Equity in Education (Volume I)

Volume I, along with volume II, provides the initial results from OECD’s PISA 2022. PISA is a survey of the knowledge and skills of 15-year-olds near the end of their compulsory schooling. The major focus of the 2022 assessment was mathematics, with a secondary focus on reading and science. Volume I provides a detailed examination of student performance in mathematics, reading, and science, and describes how performance has changed since previous PISA assessments.

PCAP 2019 Technical Report

PCAP is highly complex methodologically, requiring intensive collaboration among stakeholders. The PCAP 2019 Technical Report describes those methodologies, along with other features that have enabled PCAP to provide high- quality data. The information gained by this pan-Canadian assessment provides ministers of education with a basis for examining the curriculum and other aspects of their school systems.

PCAP2019 Contextual Report on Student Achievement in Mathematics

Secondary analysis undertaken as part of the PCAP 2019 Contextual Report on Student Achievement in Mathematics explored how resources and school and classroom conditions, as well as student characteristics and family circumstances, may impact mathematics achievement in Grade 8/Secondary II students.

CMEC Indigenous Education Data Webinar Series February – April, 2021

In February and April 2021, the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) hosted a webinar series that brought together participants from across Canada for a discussion on Indigenous education data.

The webinar series focused on elementary and secondary education, exploring topics such as student completion pathways, data-sharing agreements, approaches to self-identification, use of Indigenous data, and linking quantitative and qualitative data. The list of topics was developed from discussions with provincial and territorial Indigenous Education Committee members and was informed by feedback from Indigenous education partners who have attended and participated in several of CMEC’s events pertaining to Indigenous education, such as the 2018 CMEC Symposium on Indigenizing Teacher Education.
